FAQ
Ask us anything
Everything people have asked so far about opening day, coverage, kids, languages, and what to do in the meantime. Something missing? Write to us and we'll answer (and probably add it here).
When does Renfrew Family Dental open?
Early 2027, at 2567 Renfrew Street in East Vancouver. The build-out is underway now. Join the opening list and we'll email you the moment booking opens.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. As a brand-new clinic, every patient is a new patient. Individuals, couples, and whole families are all welcome. Opening-list members get first access to appointment times.
Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes, we participate in the CDCP for eligible patients. If you're not sure whether you or your kids qualify, ask us and we'll help you check the income thresholds and enrolment steps.
Do you bill insurance directly?
Yes. Bring your plan details and we submit claims for you, and you pay only your portion at the visit. Before any treatment, you'll get a written estimate of what your plan covers and what you'd owe.
What if I don't have insurance?
You'll get clear written pricing before any treatment starts, and honest recommendations about what actually needs doing now versus what can wait. No surprises at the front desk.
Do you see children?
Yes, all ages, from a first tooth to grandparents. We recommend a first visit by age one or within six months of the first tooth, and we book whole families together so everyone's done in one trip.
What languages do you speak?
Care in English, with Mandarin, Cantonese, and Tagalog spoken when it helps, including for paperwork and insurance questions.
Will you have evening or weekend appointments?
Saturdays, yes. Saturday appointments are part of the schedule from day one. We'll also hold a limited number of evening slots each week. Sundays aren't planned for opening.
What makes the clinic 'modern'?
Everything is being bought new, right now: intraoral scanners instead of putty impressions, low-dose digital X-rays you can see on screen, and an in-house 3D printer for night guards, models, and surgical guides. Specialty lab work still goes to trusted local labs, but far less of your care has to wait on one.
Do you offer sedation?
Yes, including IV sedation for longer procedures and serious dental anxiety. It's planned in advance with a consult, you're monitored continuously throughout, and you'll need someone to take you home afterward. Mention anxiety when you book and we'll plan the whole visit around it.
What should I do about a dental emergency before you open?
Contact your current dentist, call HealthLink BC at 811 for advice, or go to the nearest emergency department for severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, or facial trauma. Once we open, same-day emergency appointments are held in the schedule by design.
Where exactly are you located?
2567 Renfrew Street at East 10th Avenue, in the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood, on the 16 Renfrew bus route and a few minutes from the Millennium Line.
How do I get updates while the clinic is being built?
Join the opening list. You'll get one email when booking opens, plus the occasional build-out update: team introductions, photos as rooms finish, and opening details.
Be first through the door
One email when booking opens. Maybe one or two as the clinic takes shape. That's it.
